This Week's Update

The skies are gray. The weather is cold. This year's brides are planning their weddings in full force. Lovely spring flowers are arriving daily, confirming the fact that Minnesota winters don't last forever.

Wedding Fair Flowers

Today was the Wedding Fair. Attendance was huge, as usual, proving that people are still getting married and having weddings, despite the sagging economy.

The New Year 2010

Another holiday season has seen its glory, come and gone like a tornado in Kansas in May. So much to do, eat, shop for, decorate...and pffffttttt...done! Its the new year. January 2010, one of the coldest in the history books for this nation in recent history. Even Florida is having a tough time staying above the freezing mark. Unfortunately this may have an adverse effect on the price of flowers, many of which come from Florida at this time of year, many of which have been frozen by cold weather. We will hope for the best, that the greenhouses were able to keep the heaters going well enough to salvage the beautiful crops of flowers many of us in REALLY COLD country rely upon to brighten our cold winter days.
January 17th marks the annual Twin Cities Bridal Association Wedding Fair at the Convention Center. Debbie Turner Originals/ DTO Flowers will have a presence there, though not a booth. We have been asked to design flowers for "A Spotlight Wedding & Event Design", a new party rental company from California. We are excited to see a new and unique style of linens and draping jump into the wonderful mix of choices that Minneapolis has to offer.
I will be attending the fair with my daughter, Angela, to gather fun ideas for her wedding, that we are planning this year. Her style seems to be very classic, old world style. This is so fun to actually be planning a wedding for one of my own daughters! Anyhow, perhaps you will bump into us at the fair. If you recognize us, please stop us and say hi!
